A U.S statesman once said that “climate change is not only a matter of great peril but also one of great promise.” This may sound conflicting but it depends on how you look at it.

For one, the reality of climate change challenges us to build sustainable climate solutions for the future, which will, in turn, create job opportunities and promote a healthy planet.

With that in mind, innovative startups and enterprises creating sustainable solutions in the energy industry across the world are invited to apply for the 2021 EnergySpin Business Accelerator.

About the program

Launched by EnergySpin, a Finnish not-for-profit organization and a firm believer in a clean and sustainable future, the accelerator program is geared at helping startups and enterprises reach their goals, and together build a world where clean and affordable energy is provided for everyone.

The EnergySpin Business Accelerator is a multi-corporate growth program for startups seeking international growth. It is a ten-week-long accelerator program including company-specific training for business growth planning, product development, commercialization, financing, and marketing.

All of which is tailored to help promising startups challenge the status quo of the industry.

After the end of the accelerator, EnergySpin offers the startups participating in the program an opportunity to continue to use the co-working space and services for an additional three months.

Their team will continue to work with participants to develop their business and customer relations as well as connect them to service providers and new partners.

Benefits

EnergySpin and its partners will invest up to €1M in the most outstanding companies participating in the program. Other benefits include:

  • Coaching and workshop sessions
  • One-on-one mentoring
  • Piloting / Testing of participants’ solutions
  • Networking
  • Investment opportunities
  • Unique industry cluster
  • International recognition
  • Access to EnergySpin’s resources.
Program expectation

Since EnergySpin is vested in the success of participants’ companies, they become a supportive part of the team, offering practical advice while working with participants side-by-side to build successful stories.

The goal of the accelerator is to get innovators to launch their ideas to the world. As such, startups are given the chance to present their use cases to EnergySpin’s corporate partners, who are open to possible pilots, PoCs, and other forms of cooperation.

The program also includes mentorship by international executives and serial entrepreneurs, workshops focused on going from minimum viable product to minimum meaningful product, organizing of financing, assistance, and connections within marketing and international product distribution, and other startup and industry-relevant topics.

EnergySpin’s corporate partners will be with the startups from the beginning of the program to help with technology, market insights, distribution, and more.

Do I qualify?

To know if you’re eligible for the accelerator, consider the following information.

  • Companies must be solving real problems in the energy business.
  • Companies must have a strong team, scalable ideas, and a huge potential to disrupt global industries.
  • Enterprises in fields linked to the energy sector, such as digitalization, IoT, cybersecurity, and gamification, including smart grid, power optimization, and renewables are welcome to apply.
  • Founders must display impressive abilities to interact and benefit from interactions with the partners, mentors, and community.

Note also that EnergySpin looks for companies that have strong potential for collaboration with one or more of the corporate partners, and which can benefit from the platforms, distribution channels, and expertise that partners provide.
